It is with deep regret to announce a death of a local firefighter. Firefighter Patrick Gallagher, 55, was an active volunteer firefighter for Union Township Fire Department in Porter County. He succumbed to traumatic injuries in an accident that occurred outside his home. Patrick was a retired firefighter with 20+ years with the Chicago Fire Department and also practiced law in Chicago. Patrick also served as an associate chaplain for the Indiana Volunteer Fire Association (IVFA). Click here for the Times Online for the full article. The Crown Point Fire-Rescue along with it's members would like to offer any and all support to the family of Patrick and the Union Township Fire Department. Please help us to help you by making sure that your house is clearly identified. The house numbers need to be a minimum of three (3") inches in height and in a color that contrasts with the background. It is important that the house numbers are clearly visible from the road. This will make your property easier to identify and allow our department to render aid to you in a more efficient manner. Reflective address marker signs available here for only $15!

Fire Chief Gary Huys reminds you that the volunteer firefighters responding to an emergency display blue flashing or revolving lights. Please pull to the right and allow fire trucks and volunteer firefighters to pass. The emergency that they are responding to may be at your home.

The Crown Point Fire Rescue department offers tours of our station to groups and individuals. Bring the kids! Our on duty personnel are happy to show them around. Large groups are asked to call our office to schedule a convenient time. You may reach us at 911 for emergencies or at 662-3248 for non-emergency. You can also send us an email.
